West Waddy undertook town planning, architectural design, and project management for the conversion of existing structures at Stoke Road Farm. Whilst most of the outbuildings on the site were single story and timber clad, this former farmhouse building was built in brick. The elevations of the existing structure featured ad-hoc door and window apertures added over different phases of development and use. This unplanned aesthetic was retained in the conversion. A simple timber clad addition was designed to offer the additional floor area required to create a viable three bedroom dwelling.
A combination of traditional and contemporary detailing gives the extension a unique character. The three other timber clad barns adjacent, form a shared courtyard to the front of each property.
